This is downtown, Frederick, MD. This is one of things I miss most about my old home. The downtown is historic, dating back to pre-civil war days. There is a photograph in the National Museum of Civil War Medicine of soldiers marching past a mile marker that still sits outside the building where the museum is located; but I digress. The downtown area has lots of quirky little shops and world class restaurants and people live and work in the downtown area. There’s an old movie palace turned performance space (were I used to work); I went to see George Takei speak there a couple of weeks ago.

Frederick is also the home of Francis Scott Key who worked as a lawyer there and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetary located at the Southern end of Market Street – the main street that runs through Frederick. Seriously, I could go on and on, but I’ll just let you look at the pretty pictures.
