While driving up I-95 recently, I had arranged to stop overnight in Florence, SC. It was still fairly early when I got off the exit but it had gotten dark. As I drove down the road looking for my hotel I spotted this! After I checked into my hotel, I did a drive-by and as I had hoped, this amazing work of art was all neon – as was the sign over the entrance. I left in the bottom of teh sign, so I hope you can get an idea of just how tall this is. At least 20 feet.

Isn’t there always a Thunderbird Hotel in almost every town in America? Loved it.

I always have trouble getting the colors to look right on neon signs. You mastered it!

  I underexposed it by at least 1 stop. The first couple I took didn’t show the colors at all.
